In April I took a class in Underwater Photography from the lovely Brooke Shaden (http://brookeshaden.com/gallery/). I was so enthralled by the whole thing and how it could fit into my contemporary glamour portrait works, that I bought an underwater camera and dove right in, pun intended!
Instructor: Brooke Shaden and Model: Marsha Denlinger (Sorry the quality isn't fab, iPhone video freeze frame shot)
Underwater photography seems like it would be easy, however the subjects often have a hard time staying underwater. And you can imagine what someone's face might look like while they are trying to strike the pose that they've been directed to by me, hold their breath, all the while attempting to look serene and pretty! It's not necessarily the shoot for everyone. That said, enter Miss Sabrina Strickland. This young lady swims like a fish AND had no issues nailing the exact pose I asked for, all the while heaving a pleasant look on her face and a pleasing pose.
Here's an image from the day that we shot, my lifeguards are at the ready!
And one of the images (Sabrina's favorite) that was created from this shoot:
Title "Where Angels Sleep"
As well as a dry land shot of my lovely subject!
